Dow Jones Industrials closes in red as Fed cuts stimulus

Major US stock indices including the 30 component Dow Jones Industrial Average, tech heavy Nasdaq Composite index and Standard and Poor 500 index closed the day in red after federal reserve announced about lowering the economic stimulus package for bringing the economy back on track post the 2008 downturn.

San Francisco Federal Reserve President John Williams said the central bank could begin to cut its bond purchases if the economy continues to improve. The move which turned investors off from purchasing fresh stocks. The Dow Jones Industrials closed down by 42 points at 15233.22 pts.
